Painting with a Twist with BHPaul and Steph
For the Painting with a Twist event, 9 BHP students painted a beautiful sunset, alongside academic advisors, Stephanie and Paul. The upperclassmen made effort to connect to freshman and shared valuable insights/experiences. During the painting, students and advisors encouraged one another for creativity and hard work.
Under the guidance of the Painting with a Twist staff, the paintings turned out all stunning; however, Ellie Gex’s painting stands out, having used a stunning pink/white scheme rather than the green/orange color scheme recommended.
Henry also rendered a unique vision on his canvas by adding in storms and snowmen. Paul and Steph shared some of what’s going on in their personal lives; Steph revealed that she has a cat with severe anxiety and Paul confessed that his kid was sick at home as he came to this event. In addition, Steph discussed her incredible trip along the coast of Portugal, surveying its beaches. Paul enlightened freshman on his favorite restaurants in Austin, including gems such as Odd Duck, a farm to table local establishment, and Dai Due, a butcher shop and steak house. The staff at Painting with a Twist were incredibly friendly and did not mind waiting for attendees that were slightly late. They also drew a raffle for a free painting, which Nicholas Kuehl won. He settled on bringing home a scenic interpretation of a forest creek alongside his own piece of work.
